Whenever work is eating me up, my mind goes crazy, thinking about things that I want to do just to take some time off. Personal projects, that’s what I call them.
I do them when I have some free time, or sometimes I squeeze it between work. I believe that personal projects give me the freedom that I don’t have at work, where I am only limited to the four corners of the box that the big bosses are giving me. It is also a good way to take a break from the usual work routine.
Here are the five (5) personal projects I have that I can’t believe I am sharing with you. Haha. I am usually silent with personal projects, but maybe I just need more “push”, so I’m blogging about it. :)
Blog Theme
Status: Launched
I actually started creating a theme few months ago but I ended up not finishing it because another totally different idea came. I discarded that one and started a new one from scratch again. If you would notice, I am already using the “second theme”, and it’s still simple and minimal. What do you think about it? :)
Portfolio
Status: In Progress
Ever since, I haven’t seen myself as a front-end developer, like how the people around me do. A few friends have been telling me to just go with it and after years (yes, years!) of thinking about it for so many times, I am finally doing it. It’s still a work in progress and I hope to launch it by June or later.
Gerald’s photography blog
Status: Pending for Approval
As I have mentioned a few times before, Gerald seems to be getting interested with photography ever since we got a camera. Even to the point that he asked me to buy a domain for him. Haha. The design is still pending for his approval, but I hope to start with it before the month ends.
Travel blog (with Gerald)
Status: Conceptualization
This is one of the biggest personal projects, I guess, because I am doing this with Gerald. It is one of our spontaneous and crazy moments that made this decision. Haha. It won’t be something professional though, it will only be an online journal of our trips together :)
Project Life
Status: Requirements Gathering
Project Life, as described by Sweet Rose Studio, is an amazing system of recording memories without the hassle, investment, or hours required to finish a typical scrapbook. I’ve always wanted to create scrapbooks but never started one because I find it tedious. With albums, I can easily print photos and just place them inside, and maybe add some designs later on. That would be easier for me, I think. While I am waiting for the albums I ordered, I just started gathering the photos I need. I will be talking more ahout this when I have started getting my hands on this project. :)
Woah! That looks a lot, now that I listed them all! I am hoping I could accomplish them all by this year and be able to share them to you, along with the many goals I have.
It’s your turn!
- Do you also have personal projects? What are those?
- What do you think of my theme? :)
