Fantasy World: A supposed Disney World of the Philippines

What it would have been like if we have a theme park in the Philippines that can compare to Disney World? Actually, we could have had one with Fantasy World!

Fantasy World

Fantasy World is a theme park located in Lemery, Batangas. It was built in 2001 and once owned by a Japanese businessman. Right now, the home owners association operates and maintains the theme park.

If you are familiar with the TV show Majika,  Fantasy World was the location of their shoot and it was truly magical! Fantasy World’s medieval theme would have been a world-class amusement and recreation park and the rides can rival to those in Disney World or Disneyland.

How to Get There

We were actually in a private van when we went there, but I asked for help with the directions. Let me know if there’s something I need to edit on this guide. :)

Fantasy World

  • Ride a bus going to Balayan / Calatagan / Nasugbu
  • Drop off at “Boundary” (Boundary of Nasugbu and Alfonso, Cavite)
  • Ride a jeep going to Lemery and ask if it’s via Diokno Road
  • Drop off at Fantasy World

Entrance Fees

It costs Php 1,000 for a group of 10 persons. Even if you’re alone, you need to pay Php 1,000 so it’s better to come with friends or a group so you can save. :)

Fantasy World

We went there as a side trip after our Mt. Maculot Day Hike. Since I already know about its situation, I didn’t expect much, but I was still disappointed. Maybe I got really sad that this actually has a lot of potential.

Fantasy World

It felt really creepy because it was so quiet and no one else was in there except for our group. Add up the gloomy weather! Haha The rides are also not operating anymore and the structures are not well maintained. I think that is the reason why people call it “abandoned”.

I believe that this could be successful if developed. The supposed Disney World of the Philippines can become a reality. Let’s see and hope there will be investors or businessman who would redevelop this place.

It’s your turn!

  • Have you been to Fantasy World? How was your experience?
  • Do you also think Fantasy World has a potential to become the Philippines’ Disney World or Disneyland?

Dba, sayang talaga. Lalo pag makikita mo sya in person, mas manghihinayang ka kasi maganda sana, may potential sana. Ngayon mukha na syang “abandoned” talaga :(

Majika made this famous before! I can remember how colorful it is back then but now sa mga kumakalat na photos everything looks sad. It’s very dramatic for photos though!

Hala ang ganda kaso it looks abandoned na nga. I believe I saw an article on Facebook about a Disney Land-like theme park here na abandoned na, eto nga siguro yun. I hope ma-develop pa ‘to. It really looks beautiful pag inayos at binuhay ulit.

Fantasy World looks much better here, yun bang parang dinadayo pa compared to the articles I find online na mukang abandunado na talaga. Hehehehe!

Yung ibang posts sa Facebook at Youtube talagang ginawang “abandoned” from their title pati sa pagkaka edit ng photos. Haha! Madalas ako dito nung bata ako, now I want to go there again to visit the place. :)

Our van driver told us about this when we were in Tagaytay nga. But we opted not to go kasi tinamad na kami and he said it was abandoned anyway so there’s nothing much to see. Anywaaay, the place looks really nice esp when thinking of the could have beens.. It’s just sad that it was abandoned. I wonder why the businessman left it there.

I’m surprised na may rides (though it’s not operational anymore) because the last time I went there, the only thing you can do is take pictures and walk through the hanging bridge. Tapos meron pang mini performances & a small souvenir shop. May condo din dyan with indoor pool and bowling area but I’m not sure if it’s still open. May potential talaga yung place. They had a lot of plans for the place but as far as I know they had budget problems. Oh, well. Hopefully, there’ll be new investors so they can rebuild the place. :)

By the way, I nominated you for Liebster Award! :) You can check out my post about it here. I look forward to reading your answers! :)
